What happened
National Park Week ran Aug. 22–30, 2026, and the National Park Service marked its 110th birthday on Aug. 25, which included a fee-free entrance day for U.S. citizens and residents. Grand Canyon was among the parks highlighted during the celebration.
One clarification, because it circulated incorrectly: this was not a Grand Canyon centennial. Grand Canyon National Park's 100th anniversary was in 2019.
Why it still matters to RVers
- Fee-free days move crowds — useful to plan toward, or deliberately around.
- Park campgrounds with RV-length limits book out well ahead of the dates people expect.
- Check length, height and hookup limits per campground, not per park.
- Cell coverage inside parks is unreliable; download maps and reservations before you arrive.
