Who we are
StrangerPalooza started with Hank and Lola Strange and a shared love of getting out, exploring and discovering what’s next.
But we don’t always look at things the same way—and that’s part of the fun.
Hank wants to know how something was designed, how it works, what technology is behind it and what could make it better. Lola wants to know where it can take us, what it’s actually like to use and whether it makes the journey more enjoyable.
That combination has taken us inside RV factories, behind the wheel of camper vans and EVs, across the country on road trips, through national parks, into campgrounds and to plenty of unexpected places along the way.
StrangerPalooza is where we share those experiences.
We tour camper vans and RVs, talk with the people who design and build them, test products and technology, and—most importantly—actually get out and use this stuff in the real world.
We’re not trying to tell everyone which camper van, RV or way of traveling is “the best.” We want to give you enough information and real-world perspective to figure out what works best for you.
Because for us, the vehicle has never really been the destination. It’s what it allows you to experience along the way.
Meet the hosts
Founder, Host & Creative Director
Hank is the technical and creative side of StrangerPalooza. He loves digging into how camper vans are designed, engineered and manufactured—and the freedom that comes from having everything you need packed into a van. A lifelong creative, Hank is a writer, animator and host with a passion for emerging technology, EVs and the innovations shaping how we’ll travel in the future.
Co-Founder, Host & Business Manager
Lola brings the travel, adventure and real-world experience to StrangerPalooza. A pharmacist, mom of two awesome sons and married to Hank for 27 years and counting, she looks at camper vans from a different perspective: Where can it take us? What is it actually like to drive, travel and live with? And most importantly—what experiences can we have along the way?
