The Alliance RV Model B 22DRB is a new Ford Transit AWD camper van built around a dry rear bath with a separate shower and toilet. We toured the prototype at Open House in Elkhart, Indiana, where Ron Preston walked Hank through Alliance’s first Class B and the decisions behind its layout.

Beyond the bathroom, the Model B pairs a two-drawer refrigerator with convertible twin beds, places to work, and an accessible electrical installation. Here’s what stood out during our walkthrough, along with the details still being finalized for production.

What is the Alliance RV Model B?

The Model B is Alliance’s Ford Transit Class B RV line. The model we toured, the 22DRB, uses an all-wheel-drive Transit with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. The letters identify its defining floor plan: a dry rear bath.

Ron also clarified where the new van fits alongside Midwest Automotive Designs. In the brand structure he described, Ford-based vans move under Alliance branding, while Midwest continues its Sprinter-based luxury identity.

Ron described a practical focus for the Model B, from its steel side steps to the placement and ventilation of its power equipment.

A rear bathroom with a separate shower and toilet

If a wet bath has kept you from considering a camper van, this is the part worth seeing.

The Model B 22DRB puts an enclosed shower on one side of the rear bathroom and a separate porcelain toilet on the other. A sink, illuminated mirror, medicine cabinet, and drawers round out the space. The toilet uses a black tank, and the coach includes a macerator waste system.

Ron, who says he is 6 feet 4 inches tall, stepped inside to demonstrate the shower space. There is also a folding teak seat and a ShowerMiser system that recirculates water while it warms up, helping conserve the fresh water that would otherwise go down the drain.

For travelers who dislike sharing shower space with a toilet, this layout is worth seeing. Watch Ron’s demonstration in the video, then check your own headroom and elbow room in person.

Model B kitchen and drawer refrigerator

One of the more unusual choices is the 5.1-cubic-foot Vitrifrigo drawer refrigerator. Ron demonstrated two pull-out compartments and described flexible refrigerator/freezer settings.

The kitchen also includes a dual induction cooktop and a convection microwave with an air-fryer function. A bronze-toned faucet adds contrast to the light interior.

There is a tradeoff to try for yourself: the kitchen counter sits higher than a conventional countertop. Ron explained that its height falls between a typical kitchen counter and a bar-height surface. That may work well for some travelers, but shorter buyers should check the reach to the sink and cooking area.

Convertible twin beds and workspace

The opposing lounge seats provide two individual sleeping surfaces, which Ron described as 26 inches wide by 74 inches long. A powered mechanism brings the seating together for a shared sleeping arrangement.

Separate beds leave the center aisle open; joining them creates a shared sleeping area.

Two Lagun tables support dining or laptop use. Ron also showed dedicated storage sized for a 16-inch laptop, nearby outlets, and bedside cubbies. Those are details you appreciate when the van becomes your office, your bedroom, and your living room on the same day.

The light Driftwood interior scheme and cream-toned upholstery help the narrow space feel open. Ron explained that the team deliberately avoided filling every available area with cabinets, particularly above the cab.

The prototype combines a Victron power system and 3,000-watt inverter with Lithionics lithium batteries and Garmin coach controls. Ron demonstrated two 7-inch Garmin screens and discussed battery expansion in production models.

He also described 270 watts of rigid rooftop solar and Starlink as part of the planned standard equipment. Heating and hot water come from a gasoline-powered Timberline 2.0 system.

What stood out beyond the brand names was access. The electrical components are grouped in a service area, and Ron showed how air enters and exits the compartment to help manage heat.

An optional Overland package

The tour also covered an Overland package with KC lights, a Transit-specific roof rack and ladder, black wheels, and KO3 tires.

Ron discussed a future Fox suspension upgrade, but that system was not installed on the prototype we toured. Buyers should confirm the final package contents and suspension equipment on the particular van they’re considering.

Alliance RV Model B price estimates

During our walkthrough, Ron estimated an MSRP around $230,000 and suggested a possible selling price around $190,000. Those were his estimates for a prototype, rather than a confirmed dealer offer.

The same distinction applies to the equipment. Some cab features, storage details, and provisions for battery expansion were still being finalized. Our video documents the van we saw and the production plans Ron described at Open House.

Our first impression of the Model B

The Alliance RV Model B’s strongest reason to look closer is its dry rear bath, backed by a layout that also makes room for cooking, working, and two sleeping arrangements. The raised kitchen counter is a detail we would want buyers to try before deciding.

We toured a prototype. We have not yet tested its ride, overnight comfort, battery endurance, or long-term durability.

Would the separate shower move this van onto your shortlist, or do the kitchen and sleeping layout matter more to you?
